Position for a PA in a 12 person Urology group in Marietta, Georgia.  Would be one of 4 already on staff.    Contact:  Brian Lewis  at OPUSHC@comcast.net

June 2009

As discussed, the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) at Fort Campbell, KY is currently undergoing a change in employee type. Effective 1 Oct 09, we will be stopping contract Physician Assistant coverage and will be  hiring 10 GS PA's. Hiring process has just started and would like to get folks in place prior to the contract expiration.

Fort Campbell DEM is the fourth busiest ED in the U.S. Army and is part of Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH). It serves a population of 60K benificiaries (30K AD, 30K Family Members/Retirees). The DEM is broken into two sections: Fast Track (0700-0100) which sees low acuity cases and the ED which caters to higher acuity cases. The DEM sees approximately 20,000 patients a year with a decent volume but low acuity compared to the regional medical center. Staffing is dual coverage for both sections for the majority of the day with triple coverage in Fast Track from 1100-2330.

Fort Campbell is situated on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee in the central region of both states and approximately 50 miles north of Nashville, TN. The cost of living is low (approx 65% of what is would cost for you to live in Wash DC or 75% of what cost to live in Fayetteville, NC) and the job pays a comparable salary to outside employment in the area. It is a great job to work on that second GS retirement. Direct hire authority is available so applicants do not already have to be in the GS system.
